Our HistoryThe Van Dyk Group is celebrating 80 years in business this year. Founded in 1946 by Richard and May Van Dyk, The Van Dyk Group began as the “Richard Van Dyk Agency” selling real estate in Beach Haven Terrace. In 1947, the Van Dyk Group began selling insurance. Since then, the company has grown from 2 employees to well over 100. In 1973, current owner David Wyrsch, Sr moved from St. Louis, MO to start working at Van Dyk selling real estate.
After Richard’s passing in 1984, the company was left to his descendants, Tom and Mary Taylor. Dave and Janet Wyrsch continued the legacy of their over 20 years working for The Van Dyk Group by purchasing the company from Tom and Mary in 1994. Since then, the next generation has joined the ownership team and includes sons Dave Jr, Jeff, Dan and daughters JoAnn and Cindy. Working together, they have grown the business to include four offices in Southern Ocean County and do business throughout the east coast.
